Hmm, that was fun ... reminded me of Stephen King a little bit (and I say that in the most complimentary way!). I just read his book On Writing and then a novel called Elevation (which wasn't scary at all). It feels to me like you too a conceit (time of death) and just played with it in a really fun way.
